One of downtown Detroit's most stunning high-rises will soon offer rooftop access when The Monarch Club opens atop the Metropolitan Building.
The 150-seat club will be the city's highest rooftop bar when it starts service on May 11, and while it will be a club, it'll be a chill place where one can have a conversation. Hell's Kitchen alum Jared Bobkin is running the kitchen, which will offer small plates for between $5 and $18.
The neo-gothic building opened in 1925 and was vacant and falling apart before it was purchased and redeveloped in recent years.
